Europe is a place full of overseas jobs and a lot of expats like to work. The pay can be very good but the taxes can be pretty high in many of the European countries. It is important to take into account how much your taxes will cost and the cost of living in any country you decide to take a job in and Europe is no different. Europe however can be a safer place to work than places like the Middle East. You do want to check travel alerts and travel warnings though and should check out crime rates in the areas you are applying for jobs in. You will want to check out the prices of apartments and find out if your company is going to provide you some kind of living allowance. If you are living off of the economy with no cost of living adjustment you want to make sure you can afford to take the job. Remember you not only will have to be able to afford to live in that country but will have to be able to afford to pay any bills that you currently have.
A big part of moving to a new country is experiencing the culture of the area you will call home. Learning the local language will be a big step in adapting to your new environment. Being able to communicate with the locals can go a long way towards improving your overseas experience. There are books and CD’s now that can help you a great deal in this area. Remember when you are learning a new language you will make mistakes and most locals will be helpful and for the most part happy you are making the effort.
